ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 8, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 462

AB462-AA8,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB462-AA8,1,3 1. Page 5, line 19: delete "are" and substitute ", as they relate to marital hardship exemptions as described under sub. (3), are paramountly".

AB462-AA8,1,4 2. Page 5, line 22: delete "sub. (4)" and substitute "subs. (4) and (5)".

AB462-AA8,1,5 3. Page 6, line 3: delete "sub. (4)" and substitute "subs. (4) and (5)".

AB462-AA8,1,6 4. Page 6, line 17: after that line insert:

AB462-AA8,2,2 "(5) This section does not affect an ordinance, resolution or policy of a local governmental unit that is in effect on the effective date of this subsection .... [revisor inserts date], or that is enacted or adopted after the effective date of this subsection .... [revisor inserts date], that deals with any aspect of employe residency requirements other than a marital hardship exemption that is described in sub. (3). An ordinance, resolution or policy of a local governmental unit that relates to a marital hardship exemption must be at least as stringent as the marital hardship exemption that is described in sub. (3).".
