(4m) Joint legislative council study. The joint legislative council is
4requested to study the medical examining board's investigation of, and imposition
5of discipline against, physicians who engage in unprofessional conduct or who are
6negligent in treating patients, for the purpose of making recommendations for
7ensuring, to the maximum extent practicable, that the board takes appropriate
8disciplinary action in a reasonably expeditious manner. On or before the first day
9of the 12th month beginning after the effective date of this subsection, the joint
10legislative council shall submit its findings, conclusions and recommendations, if
1any, to the legislature in the manner provided under section 13.172 (2) of the
2statutes.".
