SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 631

AB631-SA1,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill , as shown by assembly substitute amendment 1, as follows:

AB631-SA1,1,3 1. Page 3, line 19: before that line insert:

AB631-SA1,1,4 " Section 7m. 118.40 (4) (c) of the statutes is created to read:

AB631-SA1,2,2 118.40 (4) (c) Enrollment. No more than 10% of the membership of the school district operating under ch. 119 may attend charter schools located in that school district in any school year. Annually, by June 1, the operator of each charter school located in the school district operating under ch. 119 shall notify the department of the number of pupils for whom the charter school has space in the following school year. If in any school year there are more spaces available in the charter schools located in the school district operating under ch. 119 than the maximum number of pupils who may enroll in the charter schools under this paragraph, the department shall prorate the number of spaces available at each charter school located in the school district operating under ch. 119.".
