SENATE AMENDMENT 5, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 631

AB631-SA5,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by assembly substitute amendment 1, as follows:

AB631-SA5,1,3 1. Page 3, line 5: after that line insert:

AB631-SA5,1,5 " Section 5r. 118.40 (3) (b) of the statutes, as affected by 1997 Wisconsin Act 27, is amended to read:

AB631-SA5,1,9 118.40 (3) (b) A contract under par. (a) or under subs. (2m) or (2r) may be for any term not exceeding 5 3 school years and may be renewed for one or more terms not exceeding 5 3 school years. The contract shall specify the amount to be paid to the charter school during each school year of the contract.".

AB631-SA5,1,10 2. Page 4, line 7: after that line insert:

AB631-SA5,1,13 "(2m) The treatment of sections 118.40 (3) (b) of the statutes first applies to charter school contracts that are entered into, extended, modified or renewed on the effective date of this subsection.".

AB631-SA5,2,1 3. Page 4, line 10: after "(3)" insert "(b)" and".

AB631-SA5,2,3 4. Page 4, line 10: delete "statutes takes" and substitute "statutes and Section 9 (2m) of this act take".
