SENATE SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 701

AB701-SSA1,1,2 An Act to amend 287.23 (3) (b); and to create 287.07 (1m) (c) of the statutes; relating to: a ban on disposal and incineration of used automotive oil filters.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB701-SSA1, s. 1 Section 1. 287.07 (1m) (c) of the statutes is created to read:

AB701-SSA1,1,7 287.07 (1m) (c) Beginning on January 1, 2000, dispose of an oil filter used in a motor vehicle, as defined in s. 287.15 (1) (e), in a solid waste disposal facility or burn an oil filter used in a motor vehicle, as defined in s. 287.15 (1) (e), without energy recovery in a solid waste treatment facility in this state.

AB701-SSA1, s. 2 Section 2. 287.23 (3) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB701-SSA1,2,2 287.23 (3) (b) Only expenses, including capital expenses, anticipated to be incurred for planning, constructing or operating a recycling program with one or more of the components specified in s. 287.11 (2) (a) to (h) and for complying with the prohibition prohibitions under s. 287.07 (1m) (c) and (2) during the year for which an application is submitted under sub. (4) are eligible for assistance under the program.
