ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 43, TO ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 768

AB768-ASA1-AA43,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

AB768-ASA1-AA43,1,3 1. Page 15, line 19: after the semicolon insert "collection of social security numbers from certain persons;".

AB768-ASA1-AA43,1,4 2. Page 58, line 6: after that line insert:

AB768-ASA1-AA43,1,6 " Section 63xe. 29.09 (11m) (a) (intro.) of the statutes, as created by 1997 Wisconsin Act 191, is amended to read:

AB768-ASA1-AA43,1,10 29.09 (11m) (a) Social security numbers required. (intro.) The Subject to par. (am), the department shall require an applicant who is an individual to provide his or her social security number as a condition of applying for, or applying to renew, any of the following approvals:

AB768-ASA1-AA43, s. 63xg Section 63xg. 29.09 (11m) (am) of the statutes is created to read:

AB768-ASA1-AA43,2,5 29.09 (11m) (am) Option to mail social security number to department. 1. The department shall offer an individual applying for an approval specified in par. (a) the option of providing his or her social security number on a form provided by the department that shall be mailed to the department no later than the 7th day following the day on which the approval is issued.

AB768-ASA1-AA43,2,8 2. If an individual fails to mail the form containing his or her social security number to the department by the deadline under subd. 1., the department shall suspend the approval.".
