ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 2, TO 1999 ASSEMBLY BILL 456

AB456-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB456-AA2,1,3 1. Page 1, line 4: after "individuals" insert ", a sales tax and use tax exemption for nonprescription drugs".

AB456-AA2,1,4 2. Page 3, line 22: after that line insert:

AB456-AA2,1,5 " Section 3m. 77.54 (14v) of the statutes is created to read:

AB456-AA2,1,9 77.54 (14v) The gross receipts from the sale of and the storage, use or other consumption of nonnarcotic drugs which may be sold without a prescription and which are prepackaged for use by consumers and labeled in accordance with the requirements of state and federal law.".

AB456-AA2,1,11 3. Page 3, line 24: delete "This act first applies" and substitute "The treatment of section 71.05 (6) (b) 20. (intro.) and 29. of the statutes first applies".

AB456-AA2,1,12 4. Page 3, line 24: after that line insert:

AB456-AA2,2,2 " Section 4m. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after publication, except as follows:

AB456-AA2,2,4 (1) Nonprescription drugs. The treatment of section 77.54 (14v) of the statutes takes effect on the first day of the 2nd month beginning after publication.".
