ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 1999 ASSEMBLY BILL 472

AB472-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB472-AA1,1,2 1. Page 3, line 4: delete that line and substitute:

AB472-AA1,1,5 "(3) Any person who observes a violation of s. 346.67 to 346.69 may prepare a written report indicating that a violation has occurred. If possible, the report shall contain the following information:

AB472-AA1,1,6 (a) The time and the approximate location at which the violation occurred.

AB472-AA1,1,7 (b) The license number and color of the motor vehicle involved in the violation.

AB472-AA1,1,9 (c) Identification of the motor vehicle as an automobile, station wagon, motor truck, motor bus, motorcycle or other type of vehicle.

AB472-AA1,1,11 (d) A description of the accident, including a description of the person, vehicle or property that was struck.

AB472-AA1,2,3 (3m) (a) Within 24 hours after observing the violation, a person may deliver a report prepared under sub. (3) to a traffic officer of the county or municipality in which the violation occurred. A report that does not contain all of the information in sub. (3) shall nevertheless be maintained by the county or municipality for statistical purposes.

AB472-AA1,2,5 (am) Within 48 hours after receiving a report containing all of the information in sub. (3), the traffic officer shall".

AB472-AA1,2,8 4. Page 3, line 9: delete "(a)" and substitute "(am)".
