ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 2, TO 1999 ASSEMBLY BILL 664

AB664-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB664-AA2,1,3 1. Page 1, line 4: delete "handgun" and substitute "handgun, authorizing the department of justice to prosecute violations of certain laws regulating firearms".

AB664-AA2,1,4 2. Page 4, line 20: after that line insert:

AB664-AA2,1,5 " Section 5d. 175.35 (4) of the statutes is created to read:

AB664-AA2,1,9 175.35 (4) The department of justice or the district attorney may institute, manage, control and direct, in the proper county, a prosecution for violation of this section. When prosecuting violations of this section, the department of justice shall have and exercise all powers conferred upon district attorneys.

AB664-AA2, s. 5t Section 5t. 941.29 (11) of the statutes is created to read:

AB664-AA2,2,2 941.29 (11) The department of justice or the district attorney may institute, manage, control and direct, in the proper county, a prosecution for violation of this section.
