TO 1999 SENATE BILL 144

SB144-AA9,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the engrossed bill as follows:
SB144-AA9,1,3 21. Page 2, line 6: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with
3page 3, line 4, and substitute:
SB144-AA9,1,4 4" Section 2m. 101.123 (2) (ar) of the statutes is created to read:
SB144-AA9,1,75 101.123 (2) (ar) 1. Notwithstanding par. (a) and sub. (3) and except as provided
6in subd. 2., no person may smoke in the state capitol building or in the immediate
7vicinity of the state capitol.
SB144-AA9,1,118 2. Subdivision 1. does not apply to any office space that is assigned to a state
9senator or state representative to the assembly, as long as all individuals who smoke
10in the office space do so in a respectful manner and address one another as "Mr.,"
11"Mrs.", "Miss", "Ms.", "Sir", or "Ma'am", as appropriate.
SB144-AA9, s. 3g 12Section 3g. 101.123 (4) (a) 1. of the statutes is amended to read:

1101.123 (4) (a) 1. Except as provided in subd. subds. 2. and 2m., a person in
2charge or his or her agent may designate smoking areas in the places where smoking
3is regulated under sub. (2) (a) unless a fire marshal, law, ordinance or resolution
4prohibits smoking.
SB144-AA9, s. 3r 5Section 3r. 101.123 (4) (a) 2m. of the statutes is created to read:
SB144-AA9,2,96 101.123 (4) (a) 2m. A person in charge or his or her agent may not designate
7the entire state capitol building as a smoking area or designate any area where
8smoking is prohibited in the state capitol building under sub. (2) (ar) 1. as a smoking
9area.".
