ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 3, TO 1999 SENATE BILL 481

SB481-AA3,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB481-AA3,1,3 1. Page 1, line 6: after "assessments;" insert "appointment of commissioners to the public service commission;".

SB481-AA3,1,4 2. Page 3, line 1: before that line insert:

SB481-AA3,1,5 " Section 1g. 15.06 (1) (f) of the statutes is created to read:

SB481-AA3,1,6 15.06 (1) (f) 1. In this paragraph:

SB481-AA3,1,7 a. "Floorperiod day" means any day of a regularly scheduled floorperiod.

SB481-AA3,1,9 b. "Floorperiod month" means any calendar month in which there is a floorperiod day.

SB481-AA3,2,2 2. If the senate does not confirm or reject the nomination of a member of the public service commission by the first floorperiod day of the 4th floorperiod month beginning after the date on which the governor submits the nomination to the senate, the member shall be appointed to the commission by the governor without the advice and consent of the senate.".

SB481-AA3,2,3 3. Page 3, line 1: delete " Section 1" and substitute "Section 1r".

SB481-AA3,2,4 4. Page 5, line 21: after that line insert:

SB481-AA3,2,5 " Section 9m. Initial applicability.

SB481-AA3,2,8 (1g) The treatment of section 15.06 (1) (f) of the statutes first applies to nominations that are submitted to the senate on the effective date of this subsection.".
