SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO SENATE SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 1999 SENATE BILL 6

June 15, 1999 - Offered by Senators Decker, Moen, Shibilski and Baumgart.

SB6-SSA1-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

SB6-SSA1-SA1,1,3 1. Page 2, line 6: delete "Locking device required for" and substitute "Offer to sell locking device required upon".

SB6-SSA1-SA1,1,5 2. Page 2, line 9: delete "provides" and substitute "offers, either orally or in writing, to sell".

SB6-SSA1-SA1,1,7 3. Page 2, line 10: delete lines 10 to 13 and substitute "the handgun a locking device that is appropriate for that handgun.".

SB6-SSA1-SA1,1,8 4. Page 2, line 15: delete "providing" and substitute "offering to sell".

SB6-SSA1-SA1,1,9 5. Page 2, line 21: delete lines 21 to 23.

SB6-SSA1-SA1,1,10 6. Page 3, line 1: delete lines 1 to 3 and substitute:

SB6-SSA1-SA1,1,11 " Section 6e. 175.37 (2) (title) of the statutes is created to read:

SB6-SSA1-SA1,2,1 175.37 (2) (title) Penalties.

SB6-SSA1-SA1, s. 6m Section 6m. 175.37 (2) of the statutes is renumbered 175.37 (2) (a) and amended to read:

SB6-SSA1-SA1,2,5 175.37 (2) (a) Any person who violates sub. (1) (1s) may be fined not more than $1,000 or imprisoned for not more than 30 days or both.

SB6-SSA1-SA1, s. 6s Section 6s. 175.37 (2) (b) of the statutes is created to read:

SB6-SSA1-SA1,2,8 175.37 (2) (b) Any person who violates sub. (1m) may be required to forfeit not more than $500.".

SB6-SSA1-SA1,2,9 7. Page 3, line 5: delete " Locking" and substitute "Offer to sell locking".
