AB1-ASA1-AA11,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:
AB1-ASA1-AA11,1,2 21. Page 5, line 4: after that line insert:
AB1-ASA1-AA11,1,3 3" Section 6g. 13.121 (3) of the statutes is repealed.
AB1-ASA1-AA11, s. 6h 4Section 6h. 13.121 (5) of the statutes is created to read:
AB1-ASA1-AA11,1,75 13.121 (5) Office expenses of speaker. The legislature or a house or committee
6thereof may not authorize the speaker to expend more in office expenses than any
7other representative to the assembly.
AB1-ASA1-AA11, s. 6j 8Section 6j. 13.20 (1) of the statutes, as affected by 2001 Wisconsin Act 19, is
9amended to read:
AB1-ASA1-AA11,2,610 13.20 (1) Number and pay range of legislative employees. The legislature or
11either house thereof may employ under the unclassified service such policy research
12personnel, assistants to legislators, and research staff assigned to legislative

1committees and such clerical, professional, or other assistants as in the judgment of
2the joint committee on legislative organization or the committee on organization in
3each house are necessary to enable it to perform its functions and duties and to best
4serve the people of this state, except that the legislature or a house thereof may not
5employ a person for, or assign a person to, a party caucus and may not employ, or
6assign, more that 3 persons to the speaker
