AB1-ASA1-AA16,1,2 1. Page 364, line 6: after that line insert:

AB1-ASA1-AA16,2,2 "(1d) Audit of the department of transportation. The joint legislative audit committee is requested to, and may, direct the legislative audit bureau to perform a financial, management, and performance evaluation audit of the operations and administration of the department of transportation. If the audit is undertaken, the legislative audit bureau shall determine the costs and benefits of the operations and administration of the department of transportation, including a review of its operations and administration relative to the operations and administration of appropriate departments or agencies in other states having transportation-related responsibilities. If the joint legislative audit committee directs the legislative audit bureau to perform an audit, the bureau shall file its report as described under section 13.94 (1) (b) of the statutes by March 31, 2003.".
