ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 23, TO ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 1

AB1-ASA1-AA23,1,4 2. Page 2, line 18: delete "29.063" and substitute "29.063 (1)".

AB1-ASA1-AA23,1,5 3. Page 2, line 18: after that line insert:

AB1-ASA1-AA23,1,6 " Section 3m. 20.370 (5) (fu) of the statutes is created to read:

AB1-ASA1-AA23,1,9 20.370 (5) (fu) Chronic wasting disease — landowner reimbursement. As a continuing appropriation, the amounts in the schedule to reimburse landowners for deer killed to control chronic wasting disease under s. 29.063 (2).".

AB1-ASA1-AA23,2,12 "(2) If the department designates an area as a chronic wasting disease eradication zone, the department shall reimburse each landowner, from the appropriation under s. 20.370 (5) (fu), an amount equal to $50 for each deer killed on land owned by the landowner in that chronic wasting disease eradication zone. The landowner shall demonstrate that a deer has been killed on land owned by that landowner in a manner determined by the department. If there are insufficient funds available to reimburse all landowners as required under this subsection from the appropriation under s. 20.370 (5) (fu), the department shall prorate payments to landowners in a manner determined by the department.".
