ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 2001 ASSEMBLY BILL 100

AB100-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB100-AA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 4: after "committee," insert "the personal property tax exemption for computers,".

AB100-AA1,1,4 2. Page 3, line 25: after that line insert:

AB100-AA1,1,5 " Section 5m. 70.11 (39) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB100-AA1,2,2 70.11 (39) Computers. If the owner of the property fulfills the requirements under s. 70.35, mainframe computers, minicomputers, personal computers, networked personal computers, servers, terminals, monitors, disk drives, electronic peripheral equipment, tape drives, printers, basic operational programs, systems software, prewritten software, and custom software. The exemption under this subsection does not apply to automatic teller machines, fax machines, copiers, equipment with embedded computerized components, or telephone systems, including equipment that is used to provide telecommunications services, as defined in s. 76.80 (3).".

AB100-AA1,2,5 "(2) Computers. The treatment of section 70.11 (39) of the statutes first applies to the property tax assessments as of January 1, 2001.".
