AB269-ASA1,1,2 1An Act to amend 29.561 (1); and to create 29.561 (1m) of the statutes; relating
2to:
reserved deer hunting back tag numbers.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB269-ASA1, s. 1 3Section 1. 29.561 (1) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB269-ASA1,2,24 29.561 (1) Collection of fee. The department shall establish a system under
5which the department shall reserve a deer hunting back tag number for a person who
6pays a reservation fee applies for such a number. The department may limit the
7number of back tag numbers that may be reserved under this system. Upon payment
8of the an initial fee each year, the department shall issue the same a reserved back
9tag number to that person. Except as provided in sub. (1m), the department shall
10issue, without charging a fee, the same back tag number to that person in each
11subsequent year in which the department issues the person a deer hunting back tag.

12Any person, including the department, who reserves a back tag number shall collect,

1in addition to each
and who collects a reservation fee, shall also collect an issuing fee
2of 50 cents.
AB269-ASA1, s. 2 3Section 2. 29.561 (1m) of the statutes is created to read:
AB269-ASA1,2,104 29.561 (1m) Cancellation of reserved number. If the department issues a
5reserved back tag number under sub. (1) and the person to whom it is issued does not
6use the reserved back tag number for a specified number of deer hunting seasons, as
7determined by the department, the department may cancel the reserved back tag
8number issued to that person. If the department cancels the reserved back tag
9number, the department may issue a different reserved back tag number to that
10person upon application and payment of the initial fee as provided under sub. (1).

AB269-ASA1,2,1212 (1) This act takes effect retroactively to March 1, 2000.
