(25c) Tourism industry. "Tourism industry" means businesses that

(1) (intro.) Except as provided in sub. (6) and ss. 108.141 and 108.142,
12no claimant may receive total benefits based on employment in a base period greater
13than
26 the maximum number of weeks specified in this subsection times the
1claimant's weekly benefit rate under s. 108.05 (1) or 40% of the claimant's base period
2wages, whichever is lower. Except as provided in sub. (6) and ss. 108.141 and
3108.142, if a claimant's base period wages are reduced or canceled under s. 108.04
4(5), (7), (8) (a) or (18), or suspended under s. 108.04 (1) (f), (10) (a) or (17), the claimant
5may not receive total benefits based on employment in a base period greater than
26 6the maximum number of weeks specified in this subsection times the claimant's
7weekly benefit rate under s. 108.05 (1) or 40% of the base period wages not reduced,
8canceled or suspended which were paid or payable to the claimant, whichever is
9lower.

12were employed by an employer in the tourism industry on September 11, 2001, and
13in which the claimant's initial week of unemployment begins during the period
14beginning on September 8, 2001 and ending on December 29, 2002, 39 weeks.

(7) If a claimant is not totally or partially unemployed prior to
18September 12, 2001 or after December 31, 2002, the maximum number of weeks of
