AB748-ASA1,1,2 An Act to amend 753.075 (2) (intro.); and to create 753.075 (2m) of the statutes; relating to: qualifications of reserve judges.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB748-ASA1, s. 1 Section 1. 753.075 (2) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB748-ASA1,1,5 753.075 (2) Eligibility. (intro.) The Except as provided in sub. (2m), the chief justice of the supreme court may appoint any of the following as a reserve judge:

AB748-ASA1, s. 2 Section 2. 753.075 (2m) of the statutes is created to read:

AB748-ASA1,1,10 753.075 (2m) Ineligibility. If a person described in sub. (2) (a) or (b) was defeated at the most recent time that he or she sought election to a circuit court judgeship, the chief justice may not appoint that person as a reserve judge in the circuit in which the person was defeated for the election to a circuit court judgeship.
