ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 3, TO 2001 ASSEMBLY BILL 872

AB872-AA3,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB872-AA3,1,4 1. Page 2, line 5: delete "(a). In that case," and substitute "(a), provided the decrease is approved at a referendum, as described in s. 59.52 (25), held under subd. 3. If the board decreases the number of supervisors,".

AB872-AA3,1,5 2. Page 3, line 4: after that line insert:

AB872-AA3,1,12 "3. `Referendum.' The board may adopt a resolution calling for a referendum, to be held not earlier than 42 days after the adoption of the resolution, on whether the board may reduce its size under subd. 1. The referendum question shall be substantially as follows: "May the board of supervisors of .... County reduce its size before the board redistricts itself following the .... [year of next federal decennial census] federal census?" If a majority of the electors who vote in the referendum vote "Yes," the board may reduce its size under subd. 1.".
