ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 2,
TO 2001 ASSEMBLY JOINT RESOLUTION 12

AJR12-ASA2,1,3 1Relating to: expressing support for organizations dedicated to training youth in
2responsible citizenship, personal development, and character guidance, in an
3effort to instill their duty to God and Country.
AJR12-ASA2,1,94 Whereas, the Girl Scouts, Brownies, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Future Farmers
5of America, Future Business Leaders of America, 4-H, Civil Air Patrol, Boys and
6Girls Club, National Honor Society, Students Against Drunk Driving, YMCA and
7YWCA, are organizations dedicated to training youth in responsible citizenship,
8personal development, and character guidance, in an effort to instill their duty to
9God and Country; and
AJR12-ASA2,1,1210 Whereas, these organizations represent a diverse group of individuals and
11families throughout Wisconsin and the United States, with millions of loyal
12American members; and
AJR12-ASA2,2,3
1Whereas, these groups have shown a commitment to delivering America's
2promise through millions of community service hours completing projects of
3importance to all citizens; and
AJR12-ASA2,2,64 Whereas, these groups have a fundamental commitment to building and
5strengthening the moral character and competence of our youth through adherence
6to the law; and
AJR12-ASA2,2,87 Whereas, all of these groups have a dedication and strong commitment to
8personal responsibility; and
AJR12-ASA2,2,109 Whereas, these groups have helped to instill traditional American values in our
10youth; now, therefore, be it
AJR12-ASA2,2,13 11Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
12Wisconsin legislature express their support for these organizations and the values
13that they instill; and, be it further
AJR12-ASA2,2,17 14Resolved, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature encourage all
15citizens and organizations in this state to recognize the importance of these groups
16and their diversity and to maintain their support for these organizations and the
17positive impact that they have on our cherished nation; and, be it further
AJR12-ASA2,2,19 18Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
19resolution to all of the aforementioned organizations of the great state of Wisconsin.
