SENATE AMENDMENT 7, TO 2001 SENATE BILL 307

SB307-SA7,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB307-SA7,1,2 1. Page 60, line 17: delete "any".

SB307-SA7,1,4 2. Page 60, line 18: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with page 61, line 10, and substitute "not harmful wild animals.".

SB307-SA7,1,5 3. Page 65, line 7: delete " Exemption." and substitute "Exemptions. (a)".

SB307-SA7,1,6 4. Page 65, line 8: after that line insert:

SB307-SA7,1,9 "(b) Subsections (1) to (3m) do not apply to native wild animals that are exempt under s. 169.04 (4) (a) and that are released into the wild not for the purpose of maintaining or establishing a population of the wild animal.".

SB307-SA7,1,10 5. Page 66, line 21: after that line insert:

SB307-SA7,1,13 "(1m) Exemption for certain wild animals. A person is exempt from the requirement under sub. (1) if the wild animal that the person rehabilitates is a wild animal that is exempt under s. 169.04 (4) (a).".

SB307-SA7,2,3 6. Page 67, line 9: delete that line and substitute "29.319, no person may sell or offer to sell any live native wild animal or any live nonnative wild animal that is not exempt under s. 169.04 (4) (b).".

SB307-SA7,2,4 7. Page 67, line 10: delete lines 10 and 11.

SB307-SA7,2,12 "(3m) Exemption for certain wild animals. A person is exempt from the requirements under subs. (1) and (2) if the wild animal that is sold or purchased, or that is offered to be sold or purchased, is a native wild animal, is not an endangered or threatened species, is not a harmful wild animal, and is any of the following:

SB307-SA7,2,22 (j) A rat.

SB307-SA7,2,23 (k) A shrew.

SB307-SA7,2,24 (L) An English sparrow.
