5(a) Notwithstanding section 20.001 (3) (d) of the statutes, of the amounts
6appropriated to the assembly under section 20.765 (1) (a) of the statutes in the
72001-03 fiscal biennium, no more than $260,000 may be expended for legal and
8consulting services, other than for those performed by employees of the Wisconsin
9legislature in the performance of their regular job responsibilities, to assist the
10legislature, its committees, and its members in the redistricting of congressional and
11legislative districts. The limit may be exceeded by an amount approved by all of the
12members of the committee on assembly organization.
