SENATE SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1,
TO 2001 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 2

SJR2-SSA1,1,2 1To create section 26 of article I of the constitution; relating to: the right to fish,
2hunt, trap, and take game (first consideration).
SJR2-SSA1,1,3 3Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That:
SJR2-SSA1, s. 1 4Section 1. Section 26 of article I of the constitution is created to read:
SJR2-SSA1,1,65 [Article I] Section 26. The people have the right to fish, hunt, trap, and take
6game which shall be managed by law for the public good.
SJR2-SSA1, s. 2 7Section 2. Numbering of new provision. The new section 26 of article I of
8the constitution created in this joint resolution shall be designated by the next higher
9open whole section number in that article if, before the ratification by the people of
10the amendment proposed in this joint resolution, any other ratified amendment has
11created a section 26 of article I of the constitution of this state. If one or more joint
12resolutions create a section 26 of article I simultaneously with the ratification by the
13people of the amendment proposed in this joint resolution, the sections created shall
14be numbered and placed in a sequence so that the sections created by the joint

1resolution having the lowest enrolled joint resolution number have the numbers
2designated in that joint resolution and the sections created by the other joint
3resolutions have numbers that are in the same ascending order as are the numbers
4of the enrolled joint resolutions creating the sections.
SJR2-SSA1,2,7 5Be it further resolved, That this proposed amendment be referred to the
6legislature to be chosen at the next general election and that it be published for 3
7months previous to the time of holding such election.
