SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2003 ASSEMBLY BILL 1

AB1-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB1-SA1,1,2 1. Page 3, line 15: delete ", (4g) and (4r)".

AB1-SA1,1,3 2. Page 3, line 16: delete "are" and substitute "is".

AB1-SA1,1,4 3. Page 3, line 18: after that line insert:

AB1-SA1,1,5 " Section 2e. 19.42 (3s) of the statutes is created to read:

AB1-SA1,1,12 19.42 (3s) "Candidate for local public office" means any individual who files nomination papers and a declaration of candidacy under s. 8.21 or who is nominated at a caucus under s. 8.05 (1) for the purpose of appearing on the ballot for election as a local public official or any individual who is nominated for the purpose of appearing on the ballot for election as a local public official through the write-in process or by appointment to fill a vacancy in nomination and who files a declaration of candidacy under s. 8.21.

AB1-SA1, s. 2m Section 2m. 19.42 (4g) and (4r) of the statutes, as created by 2001 Wisconsin Act 109, are repealed and recreated to read:

AB1-SA1,2,3 19.42".

AB1-SA1,2,4 4. Page 4, line 7: after that line insert:

AB1-SA1,2,5 " Section 2s. 19.42 (11m) of the statutes is created to read:

AB1-SA1,2,8 19.42 (11m) "Political party" means a political organization under whose name individuals who seek elective public office appear on the ballot at any election or any national, state, or local unit or affiliate of that organization.".

AB1-SA1,2,10 5. Page 4, line 10: delete "holding an elective" and substitute "or candidate for state public".

AB1-SA1,2,11 6. Page 4, line 16: delete "other".

AB1-SA1,2,13 7. Page 6, line 20: delete "holding an elective" and substitute "or candidate for local public".

AB1-SA1,2,14 8. Page 7, line 1: delete "other".
