AB157-SA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB157-SA1,1,2 21. Page 2, line 7: after that line insert:
AB157-SA1,1,3 3" Section 1m. 939.51 (3) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB157-SA1,1,64 939.51 (3) (a) For Except as provided in s. 947.07 (3) (a), for a Class A
5misdemeanor, a fine not to exceed $10,000 or imprisonment not to exceed 9 months,
6or both.".
AB157-SA1,1,7 72. Page 3, line 3: after that line insert:
AB157-SA1,2,4 8"(3) (a) In lieu of or in addition to imposing penalties provided under s. 939.51
9(3) (a) for a violation of sub. (2), the court may require that the defendant perform
10a reasonable amount of community service work at a military or veterans' facility for
11a public agency or a nonprofit organization that advocates for or provides services
12or benefits to veterans, or for a public agency or a nonprofit organization in
13connection with a Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Veterans Day event; a

1reasonable amount of community service relating to the raising or lowering of a flag
2or the proper disposal of a flag; or a reasonable amount of other community service
3relating to the military, veterans, the flag, or other civic activities, institutions, or
4symbols.
AB157-SA1,2,85 (b) Any individual, organization, or agency acting in good faith to whom or to
6which a defendant is assigned pursuant to an order under this subsection has
7immunity from any civil liability in excess of $25,000 for acts or omissions by or
8affecting the defendant.
AB157-SA1,2,139 (c) The court shall require that the defendant's compliance with a community
10service order under this paragraph be monitored and shall specify in its order the
11method of monitoring and the deadline for the defendant to complete the work. The
12court shall ensure that the defendant receives a written statement of the community
13service order.".
