SENATE AMENDMENT 2, TO 2003 ASSEMBLY BILL 259

AB259-SA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB259-SA2,1,3 1. Page 1, line 3: after "Program" insert "and requiring the exercise of rule-making authority".

AB259-SA2,1,5 2. Page 2, line 2: delete that line, as affected by chief clerk's correction, and substitute:

AB259-SA2,1,6 "119.23 (2) (a) (intro.) Subject to par. pars. (b) and (e), any pupil in grades".

AB259-SA2,1,7 3. Page 2, line 6: delete that line and substitute:

AB259-SA2,1,8 " Section 3m. 119.23 (2) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB259-SA2,2,5 119.23 (2) (b) No more than 15% of the school district's membership may attend private schools under this section. If in any school year there are more spaces available in the participating private schools applicants for the program than the maximum number of pupils allowed to participate, the department shall prorate the number of spaces available at each participating private school give priority to applicants who participated or whose siblings participated in the program under this section in the previous school year and randomly select from the remaining pupils the pupils who are eligible to participate in the program in the succeeding school year. The department shall promulgate rules establishing procedures for implementing this paragraph.".
