SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2003 ASSEMBLY BILL 608

AB608-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB608-SA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 5: after "Growth" insert "and establishing a Fiscal and Economic Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater".

AB608-SA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

AB608-SA1,1,5 " Section 1p. 36.25 (47) of the statutes is created to read:

AB608-SA1,1,8 36.25 (47) Fiscal and Economic Research Center. The board shall establish at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, as a partnership between the public and private sectors, a Fiscal and Economic Research Center to do all of the following:

AB608-SA1,1,10 (a) Provide research and technical assistance in the design of local fiscal and economic policy and assist in economic development issues.

AB608-SA1,1,12 (b) Assist local governments in the southeastern part of the state with comprehensive planning.

AB608-SA1,2,2 (c) Work with businesses in the southeastern part of the state to achieve the objectives under pars. (a) and (b).".
