AB998-AA3,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB998-AA3,1,2 21. Page 2, line 18: delete lines 18 to 21 and substitute:
AB998-AA3,1,3 3" Section 3m. 19.85 (1) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB998-AA3,2,54 19.85 (1) (intro.) Any meeting of a governmental body, upon motion duly made
5and carried, may be convened in closed session under one or more of the exemptions
6provided in this section, except that a meeting of the joint committee on legislative
7organization on an Indian gaming compact submitted by the governor to the
8committee under s. 14.035 (2) may not be convened in closed session
. The motion
9shall be carried by a majority vote in such manner that the vote of each member is
10ascertained and recorded in the minutes. No motion to convene in closed session may
11be adopted unless the chief presiding officer announces to those present at the
12meeting at which such motion is made, the nature of the business to be considered
13at such closed session, and the specific exemption or exemptions under this

1subsection by which such closed session is claimed to be authorized. Such
2announcement shall become part of the record of the meeting. No business may be
3taken up at any closed session except that which relates to matters contained in the
4chief presiding officer's announcement of the closed session. A closed session may
5be held for any of the following purposes:".
