SB214-AA44,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the engrossed bill as follows:
SB214-AA44,1,3 21. Page 31, line 14: delete "Subject to pars. (c) and (d)" and substitute "Except
3as provided in par. (bm) and subject to par. (c)".
SB214-AA44,1,4 42. Page 31, line 21: after that line insert:
SB214-AA44,1,8 5"(bm) Subject to par. (c), if an applicant has committed a misdemeanor crime
6of violence and the person is eligible for a license under sub. (3) (m), the sheriff shall
7do one of the following within 60 days after receiving the applicant's application
8under sub. (7):
SB214-AA44,1,109 1. Issue the license and promptly send the licensee his or her license document
10by 1st class mail.
SB214-AA44,2,211 2. Deny the application, but only if the applicant fails to qualify under other
12criteria specified in sub. (3). If the sheriff denies the application, he or she shall

1inform the applicant in writing, stating the reason and factual basis for the denial
2to the extent permitted under federal law.
