ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 28, TO 2003 SENATE BILL 44

SB44-AA28,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by senate substitute amendment 1, as follows:

SB44-AA28,1,3 1. Page 1079, line 13: after that line insert:

SB44-AA28,1,5 "(3z) Annual salaries for state senators and representatives to the assembly during the 2005-2006 legislature.

SB44-AA28,1,11 (a) Subject to paragraph (b), notwithstanding section 20.923 (2) (b) of the statutes and any action of the secretary of employment relations or the joint committee on employment relations relating to establishing the annual salary of each state senator and each representative to the assembly, the annual salary of each state senator and representative to the assembly during the 2005-2006 legislature shall be reduced to $44,233.

SB44-AA28,2,3 (b) Paragraph (a) does not apply to the annual salary of any state senator that, under article IV, section 26, of the constitution, may not be reduced during the 2005-2006 legislature.".
