SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2003 SENATE BILL 46

SB46-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB46-SA1,1,3 1. Page 2, line 2: delete "The department" and substitute "(1) The department".

SB46-SA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 3: after "and" insert ", subject to sub. (2),".

SB46-SA1,1,5 3. Page 2, line 7: after that line insert:

SB46-SA1,1,12 "(2) Upon receipt of sufficient contributions from interested parties, including any county, city, village, or town, to cover the costs of erecting and maintaining markers along the route specified in sub. (1) to clearly identify to motorists the designation of the route as the "Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officers Highway," the department shall erect and maintain the markers. No state funds, other than from the receipt of contributions under this subsection, may be expended for the erection or maintenance of the markers.".

(1) to clearly identify to motorists the designation of the route as the "Wisconsin Fire Fighters and Emergency Medical Technicians Highway," the department shall erect and maintain the markers. No state funds, other than from the receipt of contributions under this subsection, may be expended for the erection or maintenance of the markers.".

(1) to clearly identify to motorists the designation of the route as the "Major Richard I. Bong Memorial Highway," the department shall erect and maintain the markers. No state funds, other than from the receipt of contributions under this subsection, may be expended for the erection or maintenance of the markers.".
