SB59-SA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
SB59-SA1,1,2 21. Page 1, line 3: after "primary" insert "and making an appropriation".
SB59-SA1,1,3 32. Page 2, line 16: after that line insert:
SB59-SA1,1,4 4" Section 4g. 5.68 (4) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB59-SA1,1,65 5.68 (4) The Except as provided under sub. (7), the cost of compensation of
6election officials and trainees shall be borne in the manner provided in s. 7.03.
SB59-SA1, s. 4j 7Section 4j. 5.68 (7) of the statutes is created to read:
SB59-SA1,2,68 5.68 (7) Any municipality that incurs costs in any year to hold the presidential
9preference primary in the municipality, or in any portion thereof, at one or more
10polling places where no other election is held concurrently with the presidential
11preference primary in that year may file a claim with the board for reimbursement
12of those costs. The claim shall be accompanied by appropriate substantiation of any
13costs incurred. The board shall audit the claim and, if the board finds that the costs

1have been incurred by the municipality, and the costs would not have been incurred
2but for the requirement to hold the presidential preference primary on the 3rd
3Tuesday in February, the board shall reimburse the municipality for those costs. No
4claim is payable under this subsection unless the claim is filed with the board,
5together with appropriate substantiation, by April 30 following the presidential
6preference primary.".
SB59-SA1,2,7 73. Page 6, line 7: after that line insert:
SB59-SA1,2,8 8" Section 10m. 20.510 (1) (b) of the statutes is created to read:
SB59-SA1,2,109 20.510 (1) (b) Election-related cost reimbursement. A sum sufficient to
10reimburse municipalities for claims allowed under s. 5.68 (7).".
