AB100-ASA1-AA1,1,3 3" Section 697n. 36.27 (1) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB100-ASA1-AA1,1,104 36.27 (1) (a) Subject to pars. (am), (ar), (b) and (c), the board may establish for
5different classes of students differing tuition and fees incidental to enrollment in
6educational programs or use of facilities in the system. Except as otherwise provided
7in this section, the board may charge any student who is not exempted by this section
8a nonresident tuition. The board may establish special rates of tuition and fees for
9the extension and summer sessions and such other studies or courses of instruction
10as the board deems advisable.

136.27 (1) (ar) Notwithstanding par. (am), the board may not in any academic
2year increase academic fees for resident undergraduate students or tuition for
3nonresident undergraduate students at an institution or college campus by more
4than 3 percent over the amount charged in the previous academic year without either
5the approval of the majority of students enrolled at the institution or college campus
6or the approval of the student governing body of that institution or college campus.".
