AB100-SA12,1,2 21. Page 798, line 2: after that line insert:
AB100-SA12,1,3 3" Section 2026m. 146.347 of the statutes is created to read:
AB100-SA12,1,5 4146.347 Stem cells and embryos. (1) In this section, "health care provider"
5has the meaning given in s. 150.84 (3).
AB100-SA12,1,7 6(2) A person may conduct research involving the derivation of human
7embryonic stem cells if all of the following conditions are satisfied:
AB100-SA12,1,98 (a) The research is approved by an institutional review board acting in
9accordance with the provisions under 21 CFR part 56.
AB100-SA12,1,1310 (b) The research is approved by an Embryonic Stem Cell Research Oversight
11Committee that is established and operates in accordance with guidelines developed
12jointly by the National Academies' National Research Council and Institute of
13Medicine.

1(3) (a) A health care provider who treats a patient for infertility shall provide
2the patient information on options for disposing of any human embryos remaining
3at the completion of the treatment, including information regarding storing
4embryos, donating embryos to another individual, or donating embryos for research
5purposes.
AB100-SA12,2,96 (b) A health care provider or other person in possession of human embryos used
7for treatment of infertility may not use or release the embryos for research purposes
8unless the donor of the embryos provides written consent for using the embryos for
9research purposes.".
