SENATE AMENDMENT 7, TO 2005 ASSEMBLY BILL 1073

AB1073-SA7,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB1073-SA7,1,3 1. Page 1, line 4: after "cases" insert "and the creation of a committee to advise on medical malpractice insurance cost control measures".

AB1073-SA7,1,4 2. Page 6, line 2: after that line insert:

AB1073-SA7,1,5 " Section 9m. Nonstatutory provisions.

AB1073-SA7,1,10 (1) Blue Ribbon Task Force on Medical Malpractice Insurance. The commissioner of insurance shall appoint a committee, to be known as the "Blue Ribbon Task Force on Medical Malpractice Insurance," to study and advise the commissioner on measures for controlling the cost of health care liability insurance. The committee shall be composed of the following members:

AB1073-SA7,1,11 (a) Two physicians.

AB1073-SA7,1,12 (b) Two representatives of insurance companies.

AB1073-SA7,1,13 (c) Two members of the legislature.

AB1073-SA7,2,2 (d) Two individuals who have received health care and who represent the interest of health care recipients.

AB1073-SA7,2,3 (e) One employee of the office of the commissioner of insurance.".
