AB15-ASA2,1,2 1An Act to create 168.04 (2m) of the statutes; relating to: ethanol requirements
2in automotive gasoline and a study of ethanol.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB15-ASA2, s. 1 3Section 1. 168.04 (2m) of the statutes is created to read:
AB15-ASA2,1,74 168.04 (2m) Notwithstanding sub. (1), before the first day of the 13th month
5beginning after the month in which the department receives the report under 2005
6Wisconsin Act .... (this act), section 2 (1) (b ), the department may not prescribe a
7specification that requires automotive gasoline to contain ethanol.
AB15-ASA2, s. 2 8Section 2 . Nonstatutory provisions.
AB15-ASA2,1,99 (1) Ethanol study.
AB15-ASA2,2,210 (a) The department of natural resources shall conduct a study on ethanol, in
11conjunction with the federal environmental protection agency, the California air

1resources board, and fuel experts in private industry. The department shall study
2all of the following:
AB15-ASA2,2,7 31. The effects of the use of ethanol in automotive gasoline on air quality,
4including whether using automotive gasoline without ethanol in an ozone
5nonattainment area designated under section 285.23 of the statutes would decrease
6the amount of ozone in the air, as compared to using automotive gasoline that
7contains ethanol.
AB15-ASA2,2,10 82. The effects of increased production of ethanol on energy consumption and
9environmental quality, including effects on air quality, water quality, and solid waste
10management.
AB15-ASA2,2,12 113. The effects of the use of ethanol in automotive gasoline on the fuel efficiency
12of automobiles.
AB15-ASA2,2,1713 (b) No later than the first day of the 25th month beginning after the effective
14date of this paragraph, the department of natural resources shall submit a report on
15the study under paragraph (a), including its findings, to the standing committees of
16the legislature with jurisdiction over natural resources, in the manner provided in
17section 13.172 (3) of the statutes, and to the department of commerce.
