SENATE AMENDMENT 2, TO 2005 ASSEMBLY BILL 258

AB258-SA2,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by assembly substitute amendment 1, as follows:

AB258-SA2,1,4 1. Page 1, line 2: after "labels" insert "and a sales and use tax exemption for nonprescription drugs".

AB258-SA2,1,5 2. Page 1, line 3: before that line insert:

AB258-SA2,1,6 " Section 1b. 77.54 (14v) of the statutes is created to read:

AB258-SA2,1,10 77.54 (14v) The gross receipts from the sale of and the storage, use, or other consumption of drugs that may be sold without a prescription and that are for human consumption only, prepackaged for use by consumers, and labeled in accordance with the requirements of state and federal law.".

AB258-SA2,1,11 3. Page 1, line 3: delete " Section 1" and substitute "Section 1m".

AB258-SA2,1,13 4. Page 2, line 12: delete "This act" and substitute "The treatment of section 450.11 (4m) of the statutes".

AB258-SA2,2,1 5. Page 2, line 13: after that line insert:

AB258-SA2,2,3 " Section 2m. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after publication, except as follows:

AB258-SA2,2,5 (1) The treatment of section 77.54 (14v) of the statutes takes effect on the first day of the 2nd month beginning after publication.".
