TO 2005 ASSEMBLY BILL 318

AB318-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB318-AA1,1,6 21. Page 1, line 5: delete "has" and substitute "means a person who is verified
3by the department of veterans affairs as being a resident of this state for purposes
4of receiving benefits under ch. 45, as being a resident at the time of his or her entry
5into the U.S. armed forces or forces incorporated in the U.S. armed forces, and as
6meeting any of the following conditions:
AB318-AA1,1,107 1. The person has served on active duty for at least one qualifying term of
8service under subds. 2. to 4. under honorable conditions in the U.S. armed forces or
9in forces incorporated as part of the U.S. armed forces during a war period or in a
10crisis zone.
AB318-AA1,2,211 2. The person has served on active duty in the U.S. armed forces or in forces
12incorporated in the U.S. armed forces under honorable conditions, for 2 continuous

1years or more or for the full period of his or her initial service obligation, whichever
2is less.
AB318-AA1,2,63 3. The person has served on active duty for 90 days or more under honorable
4conditions in the U.S. armed forces or in forces incorporated in the U.S. armed forces
5during a war period or for any period of service under section 1 of executive order
610957 dated August 10, 1961.
AB318-AA1,2,127 4. The term of service in the U.S. armed forces or in forces incorporated as part
8of the U.S. armed forces under honorable conditions entitled the person to receive the
9Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, established by executive order 10977 on
10December 4, 1961, the Vietnam Service Medal established by executive order 11231
11on July 8, 1965, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, the Marine Corps Expeditionary
12Medal, or an equivalent expeditionary or service medal.
AB318-AA1,2,1613 5. The person was honorably discharged from the U.S. armed forces or from
14forces incorporated in the U.S. armed forces for a service-connected disability, for a
15disability subsequently adjudicated to have been service connected, or for reasons of
16hardship.
AB318-AA1,2,1917 6. The person was released under honorable conditions from the U.S. armed
18forces or from forces incorporated in the U.S. armed forces due to a reduction in the
19U.S. armed forces.".
AB318-AA1,2,20 202. Page 1, line 6: delete that line.
AB318-AA1,2,21 213. Page 2, line 1: after "to" insert "100 percent of nonresident tuition and".
AB318-AA1,2,22 224. Page 2, line 3: delete "resident".
AB318-AA1,2,23 235. Page 2, line 3: after that line insert:
