ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 2005 ASSEMBLY BILL 319

AB319-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB319-AA1,1,2 1. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

AB319-AA1,1,3 " Section 1g. 45.35 (14) (j) of the statutes is created to read:

AB319-AA1,1,5 45.35 (14) (j) To provide verification to the department of revenue of the information required under s. 71.07 (6e) (a) 2. or 3.".

AB319-AA1,1,6 2. Page 2, line 1: substitute "Section 1m" for "Section 1".

AB319-AA1,1,8 3. Page 2, line 7: after "following" insert ", as verified by the department of veterans affairs".

AB319-AA1,1,10 4. Page 3, line 4: delete lines 4 and 5 and substitute "of his or her death; and had a service-connected disability rating of 100 percent under 38 USC 1114 or 1134.".

AB319-AA1,1,11 5. Page 3, line 10: delete lines 10 to 15 and substitute:

AB319-AA1,2,3 "3. "Eligible veteran" means an individual at least 65 years of age and who is verified by the department of veterans affairs as meeting all of the following conditions:

AB319-AA1,2,5 a. Served on active duty under honorable conditions in the U.S. armed forces or in forces incorporated in the U.S. armed forces.

AB319-AA1,2,6 b. Was a resident of this state at the time of entry into that active service.

AB319-AA1,2,8 c. Is currently a resident of this state for purposes of receiving veterans benefits under ch. 45.

AB319-AA1,2,10 d. Has a service-connected disability rating of 100 percent under 38 USC 1114 or 1134.".

AB319-AA1,2,11 6. Page 4, line 13: after "individual" insert ", or the individual's spouse,".
