ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2005 ASSEMBLY BILL 347

AB347-ASA1,1,2 An Act to create 70.11 (44) of the statutes; relating to: creating a property tax exemption for real property owned by a disabled veteran.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB347-ASA1, s. 1 Section 1. 70.11 (44) of the statutes is created to read:

AB347-ASA1,1,7 70.11 (44) (intro.) Real property owned by a veteran who is receiving the following amount from the U.S. department of veterans affairs under 38 USC 1114 because of a permanent and total service-connected disability or by the veteran's unmarried surviving spouse, if the property is not used for pecuniary profit:

AB347-ASA1,1,9 (a) For the property tax assessment as of January 1, 2005, at least 80 percent disability compensation.

AB347-ASA1,1,11 (b) For the property tax assessment as of January 1, 2006, at least 70 percent disability compensation.

AB347-ASA1,2,2 (c) For the property tax assessment as of January 1, 2007, and for each assessment thereafter, at least 60 percent disability compensation.
