SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2005 ASSEMBLY BILL 926

AB926-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB926-SA1,1,2 1. Page 4, line 4: after that line insert:

AB926-SA1,1,3 " Section 6m. Nonstatutory provisions.

AB926-SA1,1,4 (1) Health coverage legislation.

AB926-SA1,1,6 (a) In the 2007-08 legislative session, the legislature shall introduce, and by January 1, 2008, shall pass, a bill that does the following:

AB926-SA1,1,8 1. Assures that 98 percent of Wisconsin residents have either public or private health care coverage within 24 months after the bill is enacted into law.

AB926-SA1,1,11 2. Within 24 months after the bill is enacted into law, reduces by 15 percent the per person costs associated with providing health care to residents of Wisconsin, excluding the costs of public assistance programs.

AB926-SA1,2,2 (b) Within 30 days after a bill is introduced under paragraph (a), the legislative fiscal bureau shall determine whether the bill satisfies the criteria under paragraph (a) 1. and 2. and shall report its determination to the legislature in the manner provided under section 13.172 (2) of the statutes.".
