TO 2005 SENATE BILL 207

SB207-SSA1,1,3 1An Act to create 95.55 (5) (bn) and 169.09 (1m) of the statutes; relating to:
2being physically in possession of a firearm, bow, or crossbow while hunting
3captive deer or other captive wild animals.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB207-SSA1, s. 1 4Section 1. 95.55 (5) (bn) of the statutes is created to read:
SB207-SSA1,1,65 95.55 (5) (bn) Notwithstanding any authorization for hunting under this
6section, no person may do any of the following:
SB207-SSA1,1,87 1. Shoot or shoot at a farm-raised deer while hunting unless the person is in
8physical possession of the weapon.
SB207-SSA1,1,119 2. Provide or operate, or offer to provide or operate, a facility that allows a
10person the opportunity to hunt a farm-raised deer if the person who is hunting is in
11violation of subd. 1.

1Section 2. 169.09 (1m) of the statutes is created to read:
SB207-SSA1,2,32 169.09 (1m) Possession of weapon while hunting. Notwithstanding any
3authorization for hunting under this section, no person may do any of the following:
SB207-SSA1,2,54 (a) Shoot or shoot at any wild animal that is or has been captive while hunting
5unless the person is in physical possession of the weapon.
SB207-SSA1,2,86 (b) Provide or operate, or offer to provide or operate, a facility that allows a
7person the opportunity to hunt any wild animal that is or has been captive if the
8person who is hunting is in violation of par. (a).
