ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 2, TO 2005 SENATE BILL 286

SB286-AA2,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by senate substitute amendment 1, as follows:

SB286-AA2,1,3 1. Page 2, line 3: after that line insert:

SB286-AA2,1,4 " Section 3m. 118.019 (3) of the statutes is renumbered 118.019 (3) (a).

SB286-AA2, s. 3p Section 3p. 118.019 (3) (b) of the statutes is created to read:

SB286-AA2,1,9 118.019 (3) (b) At the beginning of each school year, each school board that provides abstinence education, as defined in 42 USC 710 (b) (2), shall send a notice to the parent or guardian of each pupil enrolled in the school district that includes the following statements:

SB286-AA2,1,10 1. The pupil will receive abstinence education.

SB286-AA2,2,2 2. Abstinence education does not teach pupils how to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, such as human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, other than by remaining abstinent from sexual activity.".
