TO 2005 SENATE BILL 42

SB42-SSA1-SA7,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:
SB42-SSA1-SA7,1,3 21. Page 2, line 1: after "homes," insert "the compensation payable to election
3officials,".
SB42-SSA1-SA7,1,4 42. Page 31, line 2: after that line insert:
SB42-SSA1-SA7,1,5 5" Section 35m. 7.03 (2) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB42-SSA1-SA7,2,36 7.03 (2) The amount of compensation of election officials, when authorized or
7required, shall be fixed by the appropriate county board of supervisors, municipal
8governing body, or municipal board of election commissioners in cities over 500,000
9population. The board shall fix the amount to be paid any person employed to
10perform duties for the state. If the board employs an individual to perform duties
11which are the responsibility of a county or municipality, the board shall charge the
12expense to the county or municipality. In no case may any election official who is

1required to be compensated be paid at an effective rate for hours actually worked that
2is less than the current, applicable living-wage payable under ch. 104 in adult,
3nonagricultural, nontipped employment.
