ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 2007 ASSEMBLY BILL 2

AB2-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB2-AA1,1,3 1. Page 2, line 4: delete the material beginning with "and shall" and ending with "3 years" on line 5.

AB2-AA1,1,6 2. Page 3, line 3: delete "85" and substitute "72 years of age but less than 80 years of age every 4 years and shall examine every person who holds an operator's license and who is at least 80".

AB2-AA1,1,8 3. Page 3, line 3: delete the material beginning with "The" and ending with "examinations." on line 6.

AB2-AA1,2,8 4. Page 3, line 6: delete the material beginning with "that" and ending with "(1)." on line 8 and substitute ". The department shall make provisions for giving such examinations at examining stations in each county to license holders required to be examined under this paragraph. The person to be examined shall appear at the examining station nearest the person's place of residence or at such time and place as the department designates in answer to the person's request. In lieu of examination, the applicant may present or mail to the department a report of examination of the applicant's eyesight by an ophthalmologist, optometrist, or physician licensed to practice medicine. The report shall be based on an examination made not more than 3 months prior to the date it is submitted. The report shall be on a form furnished and in the form required by the department. The department shall decide whether, in each case, the eyesight reported is sufficient to meet the current eyesight standards.".

AB2-AA1,2,9 5. Page 3, line 11: delete "(a) or".

AB2-AA1,2,12 6. Page 3, line 14: after "travel." insert "If a person fails a test administered under par. (am) and is not issued a restricted operator's license, the department shall cancel the person's operator's license.".

AB2-AA1,2,13 7. Page 3, line 22: delete " $13" and substitute "$12".

AB2-AA1,2,14 8. Page 4, line 2: after that line insert:

AB2-AA1,2,15 " Section 4m. 343.25 (4) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB2-AA1,2,18 343.25 (4) When the person holding the license falls into one of the classes of persons to whom the law prohibits issuance of a license or a particular endorsement, including a person who fails the examination under s. 343.16 (3) (am); or".

AB2-AA1,2,20 9. Page 5, line 2: delete the material beginning with "$157,000" and ending with "$288,649" on line 3 and substitute "$288,646".

AB2-AA1,2,22 10. Page 5, line 3: after "2008-09" insert "to implement licensing requirements for older drivers and".

AB2-AA1,3,1 11. Page 5, line 4: delete "2.5" and substitute "1.5".
