ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 2007 ASSEMBLY BILL 26

AB26-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB26-AA1,1,2 1. Page 1, line 4: before that line insert:

AB26-AA1,1,3 " Section 1g. 346.46 (2m) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB26-AA1,1,9 346.46 (2m) Every operator of a motor vehicle approaching a school crossing which is controlled by an adult school crossing guard appointed under s. 120.13 (31) or 349.215 shall follow the directions of the school crossing guard. If directed by the school crossing guard to stop, the operator shall stop the vehicle not less than 10 feet nor more than 30 feet from the school crossing and shall remain stopped until the school crossing guard directs the operator to proceed.".

AB26-AA1,1,10 2. Page 1, line 4: delete " Section 1" and substitute "Section 1m".

AB26-AA1,1,11 3. Page 2, line 7: after "346.46 (1)" insert "or (2m)".

AB26-AA1,1,12 4. Page 2, line 10: after that line insert:

AB26-AA1,1,13 " Section 3m. 346.49 (1m) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB26-AA1,2,6 346.49 (1m) A vehicle owner or other person found liable under s. 346.465 may be required to forfeit not less than $20 $30 nor more than $40 for the first offense and not less than $50 nor more than $100 for the 2nd or subsequent conviction within a year $300. Imposition of liability under s. 346.465 shall not result in suspension or revocation of a person's operating license under s. 343.30, nor shall it result in demerit points being recorded on a person's driving record under s. 343.32 (2) (a).".
