ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 2007 ASSEMBLY BILL 77

AB77-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB77-AA1,1,2 1. Page 1, line 4: before that line insert:

AB77-AA1,1,3 " Section 1b. 79.10 (7m) (title) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB77-AA1,1,4 79.10 (7m) (title) Distribution to municipalities.".

AB77-AA1,1,5 2. Page 1, line 4: delete " Section 1" and substitute "Section 1m".

AB77-AA1,1,6 3. Page 3, line 1: after "1." insert "a.".

AB77-AA1,1,7 4. Page 3, line 8: delete "2." and substitute "b.".

AB77-AA1,1,8 5. Page 3, line 10: delete "20" and substitute "15".

AB77-AA1,1,9 6. Page 3, line 14: delete "3." and substitute "c.".

AB77-AA1,1,10 7. Page 3, line 20: after that line insert:

AB77-AA1,2,3 "2. a. The department of administration shall distribute, on the 4th Monday in July, the amounts determined under subs. (4) and (5) to any municipality that enacts an ordinance under s. 74.12.

AB77-AA1,2,9 b. The treasurer of the municipality shall settle for the amounts distributed under par. (a) 1. on the 4th Monday in July with the appropriate county treasurer not later than August 15. Failure to settle timely under this subdivision subjects the treasurer of the municipality to the penalties under s. 74.31. On or before August 20, the county treasurer shall settle with each taxing jurisdiction, including towns, villages, and cities, except 1st class cities, in the county.

AB77-AA1,2,16 c. The treasurer of the municipality shall settle for the amounts distributed under par. (b) 1. on the 4th Monday in March with each taxing jurisdiction within the taxation district not later than April 15. Failure to settle timely under this subdivision subjects the treasurer of the municipality to the penalties under s. 74.31. On or before August 20, the county treasurer shall settle with each taxing jurisdiction, including towns, villages, and cities, except 1st class cities, in the county.".
