ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 2007 ASSEMBLY BILL 862

AB862-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB862-AA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 3: after "grants" insert "and legislative expenditures on attorney fees".

AB862-AA1,1,4 2. Page 4, line 13: after that line insert:

AB862-AA1,1,9 "(4) Legislative expenditures for attorney fees. (a) Beginning on July 1, 2009, the department shall ensure that all expenditures by the assembly and senate for attorney fees are available for inspection on a searchable Internet Web site maintained by the department. Copies of each financial instrument relating to these expenditures shall be available for inspection on the Internet Web site.

AB862-AA1,2,2 (b) The department shall categorize the expenditure information under par. (a) by assembly or senate, expenditure amount, and the person to whom the expenditure is made. If any of the expenditure information may be found on other Internet Web sites, the department shall ensure that the information is accessible through the Internet Web site under par. (a).

AB862-AA1,2,7 (c) Beginning with expenditures made on July 1, 2009, the chief clerk of the assembly and the chief clerk of the senate shall provide the department with all expenditure information required under par. (a) no later than 60 days after the expenditure is made. The department may specify the format in which the chief clerks provide the expenditure information.".
