AB96-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB96-AA1,1,3 21. Page 1, line 2: delete "species and" and substitute "species, prohibiting the
3transportation of certain boats and equipment on highways,".

AB96-AA1,1,4 42. Page 1, line 3: after "authority" insert ", and providing a penalty".

AB96-AA1,1,5 53. Page 2, line 20: after that line insert:

AB96-AA1,1,6 6"(5) Any person who violates sub. (2) shall forfeit not more than $1,000.

AB96-AA1, s. 2m 7Section 2m. 23.245 of the statutes is created to read:

AB96-AA1,1,9 823.245 Transporting certain boats and equipment on highways. (1) In
9this section:

AB96-AA1,1,1010 (a) "Highway" has the meaning given in s. 340.01 (22).

AB96-AA1,1,1111 (b) "Invasive species" has the meaning given in s. 23.22 (1) (c).

AB96-AA1,2,2 12(2) No person may transport a boat, boat trailer, or boating equipment upon
13a highway if the boat, boat trailer, or boating equipment has an invasive species, as

1specified by the department by rule, in, or attached to, the boat, boat trailer, or
2boating equipment.

AB96-AA1,2,4 3(3) The prohibition under sub. (2) does not apply to the persons described under
4s. 23.225 (3).

AB96-AA1,2,5 5(4) Any person who violates sub. (2) shall forfeit not more than $1,000.".
